On the occasion of the World Day of the Victims of Disasters, which occurs on 13 October 2025, Camillian Disaster Service International (CADIS) invites you to join us in the Eucharistic celebration to be held on SUNDAY 12 OCTOBER 2025, at 11:30 a.m., in Rome at the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena.

It is a day to remember those who have lost their lives, to support survivors and to honour our volunteers who have courageously chosen to accompany victims on the difficult journey towards hope and recovery.
This year’s theme is: 'Upholding Dignity, Building Resilience: Our Sacred Commitment to the Vulnerable.’
Disasters are not just natural events: they devastate lives, homes and livelihoods. In 2024 alone, according to EM-DAT data, there were 393 natural disasters, with 16,753 fatalities, 167.2 million people affected and over $241 billion in economic losses.
Beyond the data and numbers, there are thousands of people, stories and unheard voices, especially in the most vulnerable and remote areas, who experience the most severe impact of natural disasters and climate change.
For CADIS, disaster risk reduction is not just a technical task, but a moral and spiritual imperative, calling us to protect human dignity and care for those who are most fragile.
Your support will enable us to carry out concrete actions in different parts of the world:
Philippines - Response to the earthquake on the island of Cebu
Emergency action to reach and assist the population affected by the earthquake in the north of the island of Cebu. With 50 € we can organise the distribution of food, water, medicines and basic necessities for people in the villages that are hardest to reach.
Poland - Victims of the war in Ukraine
Financial support to cover the costs of electricity, heating and gas in the Łomianki facility, which houses 50 Ukrainian mothers and children. With € 65 per month we can guarantee one person hot water, heating and hot meals.
Kenya - Families affected by drought
Construction of wells and water towers to ensure drinking water for 3,000 families in Wajir County. For € 45 a family will receive clean and permanently available water.
Myanmar - Children deprived of access to education
Provision of nutritious food, school materials and teaching aids for internally displaced children attending the Mandalay Archdiocese's alternative school. With € 15 per month we can provide schooling for 1500 students in 10 villages.
We invite you to donate to the CADIS International Emergency Fund, to share this campaign with friends and communities, and to participate with us in this day of reflection, prayer and solidarity.
