Next stop: Philippines for “CADIS Resilience in Action: Building a Collaborative Future”

Training for 25 CADIS leaders from the Asia-Pacific region in the Philippines

CADIS International and its local partner, CTF Philippines, work tirelessly in disaster-prone regions such as the Philippines, providing emergency aid and promoting long-term resilience through various projects. While emergency response remains fundamental, building community resilience is equally important for sustainable impact.

To raise awareness among volunteers and expand the pool of supporters in the Asia-Pacific area about CADIS activities, we will gather in Cebu City, Philippines, from March 17 to 20 for an immersive experience, which will foster deeper understanding, stronger relationship building, and greater support for CADIS' resilience-building initiatives.

25 participants from the Asia-Pacific region will explore issues related to resilience building, the importance of the role of volunteers, and communication strategies to engage as many supporters as possible.

The Philippines is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world. Several interventions have been implemented and completed by CADIS International, CTF Philippines, and other actors. But this is not enough. We must improve the skills and knowledge of the population to make them resilient, so they can face natural calamities and disasters. The workshop and immersion program will be held in CEBU City, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines. CADIS has an ongoing project in Cebu with urban communities at risk of fires and other disasters. On the third day, participants will visit the project area to meet and greet the women beneficiaries and listen to their testimonies about the impact of the project on their lives and local communities.

CADIS leaders from India, Taiwan, Australia, the Philippines, and Thailand, along with selected participants from different countries, will share their best practices and experiences during the training sessions and workshops.

On this occasion, on March 17, at the end of the first day of work, major news will be announced that will involve all those who care about the CADIS mission. Stay tuned for upcoming updates.
