Charity Concert ‘Music for Relief’ in the Parish of San Cayetano de los Teatinos

Charity concert in Barcelona organised by Camillian religious and CADIS Spain

Last Saturday, March 15, in the Parish of San Cayetano de los Teatinos, the benefit concert ‘Music for Relief’ was held in an atmosphere of recollection and fraternity. This event was organised by the Camillian religious of Barcelona, led by Fr Mathew Biju, together with CADIS (Camillian Disaster Services).

The concert featured the outstanding participation of Manoj George, a Grammy award-winning composer and violinist, who traveled all the way from India to offer his talent for this noble cause. Manoj has collaborated on several occasions with CADIS in India and agreed to organise the music for the evening along with his back-up band.

The event was opened by José Carlos Bermejo, Provincial Superior of the Camillian religious of Spain, who warmly greeted the audience. In his speech, he gave a brief but significant presentation on the history and mission of the Order, highlighting its commitment to the spiritual and social fields. He also expressed his sincere thanks to all the people and institutions that made this event possible.

Afterward, Consuelo Santamaría, a professor of the Centro de Humanización de la Salud and a member of the Board of CADIS International, presented the success stories of CADIS in the world. She highlighted the work of CADIS in favour of solidarity, humanitarian aid and the accompaniment of the most vulnerable in situations of emergency and need.

The most awaited moment of the evening was the concert, which lasted two hours and was full of rhythm, quality and emotion. Manoj George, internationally renowned for his virtuosity, was accompanied by his talented children, Neil Manoj and Niya Rose Manoj. Also in attendance was Barbara Kejetanomicz, an outstanding singer and music teacher in Vienna, whose voice brought an atmosphere of beauty and sensitivity to the event.

Finally, Brother José Ignacio Santaolalla, the President of CADIS, presented an award of recognition to the artists for their commitment and generous dedication to the victims of the DANA, and their valuable contribution to this cause of solidarity.
